| During
the 1930’s, this property was the observatory of Brazier Bacon
who documented wildlife for many years. He had several articles published
concerning wildlife on this property.
Joe and Shirley Thomas purchased the property in late 2004 from
J. Edwin Ruby III, who had many misgivings about selling the family
property, but, decided to retire in the sunny south and play golf.
The Ruby home was designed by Stratton O. Hammon of Louisville,
Kentucky. The house seems to have been built for the purpose of
viewing the lake and the nature that surrounds it. As the Ruby’s
owned the local lumber and concrete companies, the house was built
with a variety of concrete products and finished out with beautifully
milled woods. |
